Happy Friday! I’ve had a spectacular week, due in part to the fact that I have a week off from work. I’ve used this time to really catch up on my reading and it has paid off in a big way! Check out my bookish update for this past week below.
Books I read
The Sky Weaver by Kristen Ciccarelli (review)
Realm of Ash by Tasha Suri (review)
Song of the Crimson Flower by Julie C. Dao
I’ve read three books this week, and they’ve all been review copies! Taking this chance to start getting caught up on ARCs has been great, and these were all fantastic reads. Plus, this marks my return to YA fantasy! I haven’t managed to read any YA fantasy consistantly since the spring and I read two this week — glorious!
Books I am currently reading
Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman
I’m only in the middle of two books right now, and honestly I think I deserve a round of applause. My audiobook read is The Subtle Knife, as I make my way through His Dark Materials for the first time, and my main read is Queen of Nothing, which Waterstones generously delivered five days early.
Books I bought
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern
The Killing Light by Myke Cole
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
This has been the week of preorders! Three of my preorders have arrived, a couple of them early, and I’m so thrilled! None of these authors are new to me, so I’m super excited to dive into familiar territory!
Book post
Knight of the Silver Circle by Duncan M. Hamilton
Fate of the Fallen by Kel Kade
Tor Books was very generous this week and sent me two review copies. Knight of the Silver Circle is the sequel to Dragonslayer, which I’m going to read next. Fate of the Fallen is essentially the story of what would happen if the Chosen One died and their sidekick had to take their place. I can’t wait to dive into these books!
