Weekly Wrap-Up: 10 January 2020

weekly wrap up new

Happy Friday, friends!  The end of the week is nearly here, the weekend is just around the corner, and there are books to be read! This week’s wrap-up is actually covering the entire month of January! Let’s get cracking!

Books I read

Artificial Condition by Martha Wells

Dark Matter by Michelle Paver

A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe by Alex White

Thornbound by Stephanie Burgis

I have read four books so far in the month of January! Ratings of these books range from about four stars to two stars. Basically, I loved everything I read except, sadly, A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe! Full reviews for all of these books are forthcoming.

Books I am currently reading

Grimm Tales for the Young and Old by Philip Pullman

The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep by H. G. Parry

Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

The Unspoken Name by A. K. Larkwood

I’m currently reading four books! Why? I’m in such a reading mood and can’t stop picking up books! My audiobook read is Grimm Tales, which is a great collection of both popular and lesser known Grimm tales. The others are all physical reader — I don’t know how I’m balancing all of these to be honest.

Books I bought

David Copperfield by Charles Dickens

An Unkindness of Ghosts by Rivers Solomon

I picked up two books this week! Fun fact: I have a famous hatred of Dickens — I rant so much that my family makes fun of me for my Dickens hatred. However, reading The Unlikely Escape of Uriah Heep has made me want to *read David Copperfield*. How? Why? I’m not sure I understand myself, but I’m going to crack it open when I finish Uriah Heep!

I also had my copy of An Unkindness of Ghosts come through! I bought this with my ‘pound per book’ savings from 2019. Other than preorders, this is the last of my 2019 savings haul!

If you love you sister and you know it, stuff your face in her belly!

That’s it for this week! What did you read this week? Get any new books? Let me know!
