Anti-Book Haul: A Wishlist

Hi guys!  I’m working on saving some cash at the moment because October was such disastrous month for book buying.  I wouldn’t call this a book buying ban — mostly because that makes me want to buy books even more — but we’ll say it’s a slow-down on my spending.  Besides, Christmas is coming soon, and books make the best presents (hint hint to anyone getting me something for Christmas).

So instead of a book haul, I thought I’d bring you an anti-haul!  These are a few of the books, both new and older, that I’d love to get my hands on.

Forest of a Thousand Lanterns by Julie C. Dao

This book.  This book!  I have been dying to get my paws on Forest of a Thousand Lanterns ever since I heard about it.  Why?  It’s a retelling of the ‘evil queen’ story.  Who loves villains?  Me.  I love villains.  This sounds like the absolute perfect book for me.  It is out here in the UK, but I cannot find it in a single bookshop.  It breaks my heart!

That Inevitable Victorian Thing by E. K. Johnston

Another cover love, another historical fiction novel.  However, this one is alternate history.  Queen Victoria is one of my absolute favourite historical figures, and I think this book will be perfect for me.

Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust

I haven’t seen this book in bookstores anywhere, but I really want to read it.  I’ve heard wonderful things about it via book reviews, but haven’t managed to find it in a UK bookshop.  What the heck?

It’s a female/female romance that’s based on the story of Snow White.  It’s supposed to be amazing and super feminist and I want it now.

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

Before you all start yelling at me to read this, I already have!  It was actually the first  book I learned about via social media.  I bought it right after it released in the US and I really enjoyed it (except the ending, but that’s neither here nor there). I’d really love to reread it, especially with all the circus-themed books that are coming out these days, but my copy is long gone.

Now it’s your turn!  What books are you desperate to get your hands on?  Have you read any of these?  Let me know!

  2. I love that edition of “The Night Circus”! While I love the hardcover, I didn’t know that one existed! I’m the same with not getting any books due to the holidays coming up…the struggle is so real lol 🙂

    1. Isn’t it pretty? I spotted it in a bookshop one day and was blown away. I really am due for a reread.

The struggle is so real! I really need to break my habit of buying so many books when I already own so many. But..but…I just love acquiring them!

    1. I’m hoping it helps curb my book buying — but I know it wont! It’s worth a shot though 😀

  4. I don’t even know what That Inevitable Victorian Thing is about, really, and I want to buy a copy every time I see the cover.

I love The Night Circus, though!

  5. I haven’t read night circus yet but I have a copy (not too shiny think it may be ex library) but after I read it I doubt I will keep it so could send on if you don’t mind a wait?

  6. […] back to another anti-book haul!  You guys seemed to like my last anti-haul, so I thought I’d bring it back again.  If you didn’t see my last post, an anti-haul is a list […]
