Announcement: Spring Cleaning Readathon!

So this is incredibly short notice, but bear with me.  I feel like life has been just so crazy lately that I haven’t really had the time to sit down with a book and relax.  I’ve really missed my leisurely reading time! So, what to do about this? Fortunately my realisations come at a very convenient time.  Easter falls during this coming weekend, and I have no plans. Why not do a mini readathon?

tenor

I participated in the Readathon by Zoe a few weeks ago and really enjoyed it — it was my very first readathon.  While hers tends to be a little crazy — a full 24 hours of reading — I think that I’d like to plan one that’s a little more casual.  I have some ‘spring cleaning’ to do with my TBR pile — there are so many books piling up that need to be read and cleared out! So, welcome to the Spring Cleaning Readathon!

The Rules:

  • Pick a TBR — it can be one book or five books!  Even more if you like!
  • Plan out a little time to settle down, get comfy, and get reading between Friday and Monday.  You can read as little or as much as you like!
  • That’s it!

For me, the point of this is to clear out some books that have been lurking on my desk and alleviate some of the anxiety I feel when I think about my TBR pile — I don’t want to place any additional pressure on myself.  I’m planning to read quite a bit, but I also want to do some blog and video work this weekend so even I am not going full-on with this.

I’m very much planning this for myself, however feel free to join in if you like!  As always, the more the merrier. I’ll be posting updates on Twitter, vlogging my progress, and will post about it when I’m finished.

I have a TBR video up now if you’d like to see what I’m planning to read!

So what do you think?  Is this something you’d like to participate in?  What books have you been putting off reading (intentionally or otherwise)?  Let me know!

  5. Hey there!
That’s a fantastic idea and I’ll definitely join on monday; family visits for friday until sunday.
I’ll hopefully finish “Thunderhead” from Neal Shusterman, the second book in the “Arc of Scythe” series.
    Great idea!

  6. Oh, I like this idea! I might have to take part. I have some different books I’d like to work on, though I’m not sure specifically which ones yet. I need to think! I’m following you on twitter now – oh, and would you like to join my book blogger FB group? There’s a link in my pinned tweet – @shootingstarmag
