I don’t often do tags on my blog, but I was tagged by Shanah atΒ Bionic BookwormΒ to do this tag. So here we go!
1 β How many books is too many books in a series?
This is a tough one!Β I love my long fantasy epics like Wheel of Time, but I also recognise that not every series should be 15 books long.Β I think a nice middle ground is a 3-5 books unless there really is a truly epic story to tell.Β I’m not afraid of a long series.
A nice solution to this is also a series of companion novels like Emma Newman’s Planetfall books!Β Are you sick of me talking about her yet?
2 β How do you feel about cliff hangers?
Cliffhangers don’t usually get to me!Β Sure I’ll look forward to reading the next one, but I don’t often have the “AHHHHHHHHH” reaction.Β I’m not sure what’s wrong with me.Β Maybe I have no soul.
3 β Hardback or Paperback?
Either really!Β I love a good paperback but there’s something to love about hardbacks, especially if it’s a pretty book.Β I always buy the hardback when I can if it’s a particularly lovely cover.
4 β Favourite book?
Literally the worst question to ask a book lover.Β If I had to choose, probably The Last Argument of Kings or Best Served Cold by Joe Abercrombie or A Closed and Common Orbit by Becky Chambers.Β If you want a classier answer, North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell is absolutely wonderful, or Lord of the Rings by Tolkien.
5 β Least favourite book?
Ooh, a tough one.Β I don’t often read books I hate because, well, I avoid them.Β I tend to be good at predicting what books just wont be for me so I don’t waste my time.Β But I am very outspoken about my hatred for A Court of Thorns and Roses.Β I hate that fucking book.
6 β Love triangles, yes or no?
Nah.Β I don’t think I’ve ever met a love triangle I liked.
7 β The most recent book you just couldnβt finish?
Space Opera by Catherynne M. Valente.Β I even wrote about why!
8 β A book youβre currently reading?

Kings of the Wyld by Nicholas Eames!Β I’m buddy reading this with the marvelous Bethan of Bethan May Books and am really loving it.
9 β The last book you recommended to someone?

Hmm, probably City of Stairs, which I thumped Scottish Fiance over the head with until he agreed to read it.Β He’s loving it, so I feel super smug.
10 β The oldest book youβve read (publication date)?

Probably Beowulf.Β I love that book so much and was the only one in my class who did when I read it for school.
11 β Newest book youβve read (publication date)

Legendary by Stephanie Garber.Β It comes out at the end of May, and I reviewed it here!
12 β Favourite author?
Urg.Β Another awful question for a book lover.Β I’ll go with Emma Newman, Becky Chambers, Joe Abercrombie, Brandon Sanderson, Isaac Asimov, or Leigh Bardugo.
13 β Buying books or borrowing books?
Buying, which is slightly problematic.Β I’m running out of shelf space!Β I am, however, turning more often to my local library.Β I’m very fortunate to have such a huge central library and a smaller branch close to home.
14 β A book you dislike that everyone else seems to love?
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas or Heartless by Marissa Meyer spring to mind.Β Ugh.
15 β Bookmarks or dog ears?
Either!Β Fight me.

16 β A book you can always reread?
Fellowship of the Ring or Cranford!Β Both are very much comfort reads.
17 β Can you read while hearing music?
Absolutely not.Β I often read while listening to rain sounds though.Β It helps get me in the zone.
18 β One Β POV or multiple POVβs (POV = points of view)
It really doesn’t matter so long as the single POV is interesting or the multiple POV’s aren’t overwhelming.Β I think 3 POV characters is more than enough, however there are exceptions to this (A Song of Ice and Fire or Wheel of Time are the shining examples).
19 β Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?
Depends on the book!Β I can get really into a book and read it in a single day/sitting.Β I can also pull that out into multiple days.Β It really depends on the story and genre.Β I have found that the more involved I am with various forms of book blogging, the fewer one-sitting reading sessions I’ve had.
20 β A book youβve read because of the cover?
An Enchantment of Ravens.Β What a disappointment.
I also read Strange the Dreamer based on the cover, which I absolutely loved.
