It may be cold, windy, rainy, and unpleasant outside, but it’s Friday! Thank goodness. Life has been so hectic lately, but I’ve still managed to sit down and read, as well as get some things scheduled in here. That hasn’t left much room for free time though, oh well.

Reign of the Fallen by Sarah Glenn Marsh
The Armored Saint by Myke Cole
I finished two books this week — both were books I carried over from January. I four-starred both of them. Reign of the Fallen is flawed, but so ridiculously fun with some seriously dark themes. The Armored Saint is a bleak, slow burn of a novella that touches on everything from LGBTQ youth to the stranglehold of religious persecution. Be on the lookout for reviews coming soon!

This Splintered Silence by Kayla Olsen
I’m reading only (!) two books at the moment! The Ruin of Kings is a major fantasy debut from Tor this year, and I’m not quite sure what to think yet. I think this is one that needs a little more time to settle in my brain.
I’ve only just started This Splintered Silence, but am hooked on this tense book already. I’m looking forward to digging in more!

Opposite of Always by Jason A. Reynolds
Pan Macmillan generously gifted me three books this week! The Ruin of Kings is, as mentioned above, one of my current reads. I’ve also got a gorgeous hardback copy of Bloodwitch, the third book in the Witchlands series, and Opposite of Always, a contemporary YA with a Groundhogs Day twist. I’m so excited to read each of these!
That’s it for this week! You wont be hearing from me much, as today is my last day of real life before we pack up and head to Scotland for our wedding! I’m going to try to schedule stuff in here while I’m away, but who knows if that will actually happen. My apologies if you don’t hear from me much until the end of the month!
