I Should Read That

Happy Friday!  I feel like my life is getting back to normal (see my April wrap-up post for more) and I’m finally reading again. This week has been a good one — I read a bunch of books and am off to see Detective Pikachu after work.

The Devouring Gray by Christine Lynn Herman

It has been a busy, busy reading week for me! I finished three book this week and I really liked them all. I think my favourite was a surprise hit — The Devouring Gray. I had assumed it was going to be fine, but overhyped. Oh man, I absolutely loved it. It was like Stranger Things meets Buffy in upstate New York.  Book two now, please.

A Time of Dread by John Gwynne

I’m reading three books at once, typical me, and they’re all quite different. Sabriel is my audiobook, which I’ve been working on for awhile. I’m over halfway done now! I loved Big Little Lies so it was obvious that I needed to pick up Nine Perfect Strangers. I’m not too far in at the moment, but hope to make some progress this weekend. Finally, I’ve sort of been reading A Time of Dread, but it has disappeared in my flat! I think the cats took it (it’s probably under the bed). I’m planning to unearth it and read some more this weekend.

I’ve been struck by an avalanche of book post!  All of these book look absolutely incredible and I’m so excited to read them. The Descendant of the Crane was my April Illumicrate book, and the others are all from publishers. I think I’m going to actually get cracking on a couple of them, despite the fact that they have summer publication dates.  I can’t resist!
