Reading Wrap-up: February 2025

February ended up being a great reading month in terms of quality – I read so many incredible books! Unfortunately a lot of those books didn’t exactly make me feel good, therefore I wasn’t reading as much as I wanted. Fortunately I realised this and turned to a couple of fun books to lighten the mood and I ended up finishing eight books in February!

With the exception of Greenteeth, the first three weeks of February saw me reading some really grim (though fabulous) stuff. While I loved Orpheus Builds a Girl and Bat Eater especially, they’re not exactly books that make one feel good about life. Take into account the fact that I’m slowly reading Parable of the Talents, a very hard read at the best of times but especially difficult right now, and it was shaping up to be a month of really tough reads. After finishing Orpheus I realised I needed a little change of pace and took a chance on Someone You Can Build a Nest in, which was a great choice and one of my new favouites! That book injected new life into my reading brain and my reading picked up at the end of the month. Hooray!

Books I bought

I slipped and fell and bought too many physical books. Am I supposed to be buying physical books? No. We are moving and have packed approximately 10,000 boxes of books already with more to go. Whoops.

I’m a sucker for an ebook deal, I must admit. However, I do tend to get through my ebooks at a pretty fast clip because of the life-changing Kindle arm and remote I have!

Books sent to me by publishers

Another month, another set of amazing ARCs and proofs from publishers! All of these books are coming out in the next few months and they look absolutely incredible! I’m especially excited for the rejacketed T. Kingfisher books!

That’s it for February! I have a lot of reading to do…
